In Long Island City, coffee shops cluster around downtown offices, college campuses and the main commercial streets of residential neighborhoods, and the independents usually close by mid-afternoon while chains stay open into the evening. Across New York, drive-thru coffee stands and kiosks fill the gap in suburbs and along highways, and roasters often sell bags and brewing gear at the counter. Check the listing for hours, whether the cafe takes mobile orders, and its Google rating and recent reviews; parking is easiest at suburban locations, while downtown shops rely on street meters or nearby garages. Loyalty programs are common and worth joining if you are a regular.

Long Island City is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Long Island City follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Absolutely loved Unmei Matcha! The matcha was incredibly smooth, rich, and full of authentic flavor without being overly bitter. Every drink was beautifully made and perfectly balanced. The staff were warm and welcoming！Definitely one of the best matcha spots I’ve been to. I’ll be coming back again and again!

I am very picky about my matcha since I make it at home and am from la where it’s been much better than here and I was especially confused when it was just a stand at the end of the bar, but no frills! this matcha was amazing! strong matcha flavor, not watered down at all, even in the signature strawberry matcha! i had a strawberry matcha with oatmilk ($8 including tax) and dare I say it was some of the best I’ve had in nyc, i even thought that the matcha notes were better than kijitora…

Unmei Matcha is located in an atmosphere that feels very high end, calm and perfect to enjoy ceremonial grade matcha. So far I have tried the strawberry, mango, and coconut matcha. The flavors blend well with the matcha, the strawberry especially. As for the matcha itself, the preparation is ceremonial worthy and the bright colors can attest to it amazing flavor. Will definitely come back for a calm matcha sipping session!

The strawberry matcha latte at Unmei Matcha Cafe is a perfect balance of earthy matcha and fresh, slightly sweet strawberry. It’s smooth, creamy, and not overly sugary, with a natural fruit flavor that really stands out. A refreshing twist on a classic matcha drink.

This is going to be my favorite matcha place in nyc. The staffs were super friendly and plenty of spaces to sit in. The cup was really cute too 🥰 Last but not least, it has this deep & rich matcha taste which is hard to find in America.
